This photograph represents something we may not see again in our lifetime. Certainly the Growler has seen nothing like it in 36 years of voting.
At 7:15 AM the line for voting in our precinct extends all the way out the door of the Durant Center, snakes past Jefferson-Houston Elementary School almost all the way to West Street.
Is the Cranky One permitted a moment of pride to observe that this demonstrates civic culture is not dead? This has been a tremendous race, a landmark race, and the majesty of the process still impresses.
