The City Council has scheduled work session with ARHA tonight at 6 PM in the Council workroom at City Hall.
And lo and behold, at the end of the supporting material provided for the session, there is a map showing suggested locations for the units being dispersed from the James Bland Housing Project redevelopment.
On that list are the following sites:
1. Potomac Yard (yes, finally!)
2. Olde Town West
2. JBG/Winkler Properties
3. Landmark Mall (redevelopment discussions underway)
4. Tauber (the properties the City recently acquired on N. Beauregard Street)
5. An undisclosed site in the West End
But how likely is any of this? And what about those other 30 units that need to go off the Bland site to achieve parity with Chatham Square?
Also of interest: it looks like ARHA will be successful in obtaining VHDA tax credits this year.
The VHDA ranking of 2008 applications was just released last week and in contrast to last year ARHA's proposals scored well. Note that projects above the double lines scored high enough to be approved.
