Some interesting recent developments over at the Spa Court. (For you new readers, this is the south side of the 1100 block of Queen Street.)In a hearing in Alexandria General District Court last week, Antioch Church prevailed in an eviction proceeding against the owner of the Hair Clinic.
The barber shop, which has been the target of many complaints for attracting hangers-on and other undesirables, now sports a sign saying "Closing Soon."
It isn't clear if this is sign that Antioch Church is preparing to sell its property for development, or simply a matter of removing one tenant to make way for another.

I live in the 1000 block of Queen street and have not seen the sign at 1116 Queen st. that says "closing soon".
I called the General District court to find out if this dreaded place in fact is closing. They put me in touch with the Sheriff's Office who then in turn put me in touch with the Deputy responsible for all evictions in the Old Town area (to include this address).
He stated that he has not seen any paperwork in reference to this business.
I would love any updates on this eye sore that the Growler could provide. Please keep us posted.
I pray this will happen and happen soon!!!!
The Growler also noted that the sign came down. According to the shop owner he has been given another month and a half to move. He's also trying to rally friends and supporters who are members of the church in the hope that they can prevail on their leaders to reconsider the eviction.
Thank you, I just got done speaking with the employees of the automotive shop behind them and they said the word on the street is that the church doesn't want the owner (Mr. Saab) there anymore.
I hope hope hope this eviction goes through and soon!!!!
I am a little suprised that more people didn't reply to this posting. This would be a great benifit to Parker Gray if the "Spa Court" no longer exists!

Does the Growler have contact information for church officials so us citizens can relay our concerns to them?
